Changing the Status of Your Health
This is a good story because it shows what emotions will come up when a person wants to change the status of their health. My patient came in last week after a few months. Initially when she came in she was having fatigue, joint pain, skin issues, and experiencing poor moods. She came in based on a strong recommendation from her Pilates Instructor.
I checked her for food sensitivities, and she had sensitivity to peppers, wheat, and dairy. I suggested that she quit those foods strictly for 2 weeks, start drinking green juices at least once a day, and come in to be rechecked in 2 weeks. So we started her program.
She has been following my suggestions 80% of the time for 4 months. Initially she was doubtful; yet complied because the person who recommended me she deeply trusted. She was miserable for the first 2 weeks. She was crabby, missed the foods she was sensitive to, was tired, and hated the green juice. She said she was a monster; but she stuck with it.
After the first two weeks she began feeling better. Her cosmetologist asked her what she was doing because her skin was much better. If she had a big meal she started wanting to drink the green juice for the next meal. She started craving her green juice and having one or two every day. She lost weight and dropped down a few sizes. One of the biggest changes was that her mood improved. She was less moody, and abrasive than before she started the program. Her Pilate’s instructor noticed that her muscles became more fluid and mobile. She was raving about how much better that she felt. She thanked me. I was stunned, because people can pitch a fit about making these changes. She was traveling a lot during in the beginning of care, so I had missed the initial emotional aggravation.
It was not an easy journey the first 2-3 weeks. She attained results in less than 6 months. That is a drop in the bucket of time spent in terms of one’s overall health.
She accidentally had some peppers recently, and had a very strong reaction to them. This sent home the fact that the food sensitivity was indeed a real issue. She drank a Snapple diet iced tea after juicing for a few weeks, and noticed how much it tasted like chemicals. Her taste buds started telling her the truth!
If you would like to learn more about juicing and its positive effects watch the movie: Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. It is good to see this if you need some motivation and are feeling stuck. The guy in the documentary drank only green juice for 60 days.
